【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardestablishesgeneralprinciplesforthecareandhandlingofdigitalopticaldiscsduringuse.Itaddressestheissuesofphysicalintegrityofthemediumnecessarytopreserveaccesstotherecordeddata(information).ThisInternationalStandardincludesrecommendationsforhandlingprocedurestomaximizetheeffectivelifeofopticaldiscs.Faultyhandling,packingandtransportingtechniquesandmethodsoftencausephysicaldamagetothediscsandtothecontentrecordedthereon.Extendingthelongevityofopticaldiscsrequirestheidentificationofappropriatehandlingmethods,aswellaswell-developedandimplementedtrainingprograms.ForthepurposesofthisInternationalStandard,theterm"opticaldisc"includesthefamiliesofcompactdisc(CD),digitalversatiledisc(DVD),highdefinitiondigitalversatiledisc(HDDVD)andBlu-raydisc(BD)2),andanyhybridsofthesefamilies.Theterm"opticaldisc"alsoincludeseachtypeofdiscwithinafamily,includinginjectionmoulded[read-onlymemory(ROM)],dye-layer[recordable(R)]andphasechange[rewriteable(RW),randomaccessmemory(RAM)]technologies.WhilesomeoftherecommendationsinthisInternationalStandard(e.g.thoseforstafftraining)applyspecificallytolarge-scaleorlongtermusage,thebasicsofallrecommendationsinthisInternationalStandardareintendedtobeappliedincircumstanceswherethedesiredresultislong-termusageofthemediumwhetherarchival,commercialorpersonal.ThisInternationalStandarddoesnotcovermagneto-optical(MO)discs,laserdiscs(LD)orglassdiscs.Atthetimeofwriting,InternationalStandardsdonotexistforHDDVDandBlu-raydiscs.Nonetheless,itisbelievedthattherecommendationsinthisInternationalStandardforcareandhandlingcanequallyapplytothem.Itisrecognizedthatsomeoftheserequirementsarenotnecessarilypossiblefortheindividualusertoachieve.ThefollowingarewithinthescopeofthisInternationalStandard:--useandhandlingenvironments,includingpollutants,temperatureandhumidityandlightexposure;--contaminationconcerns;--inspection;--cleaningandmaintenance,includingcleaningmethodsandfrequency;--transportation;mdisasters,includingwater,fire,constructionandpost-disasterprocedures;--stafftraining.ThequalityofthedatawrittenonthediscisoutsidethescopeofthisInternationalStandard.However,ahighqualityresultoftherecordingphaseisimportanttothelongevityofinformation.Itisadvisablethatarigorousprogramofdataintegritytestingbeimplemented,asthisformsanobligatorypartofalldigitallong-termstorage.Inaddition,whenkeepingdigitalinformationforarchivalpurposes,itisadvisablethatamultiplecopy/multiplelocationstrategybeinplace.
