【摘要】:Thismethodisfordeterminingbrominenumberandbromineindex,bypotentiometrictitration,inhydrocarbonsthatarestableatroomtemperatureandhaveendpointsbelow550C(1022F)asdeterminedbyASTMMethodD1160orD2887.Theresultsdenotethosecompoundsthatreactwithbromineundertheanalyticalconditionsprescribedinthismethod,and,ingeneral,arerelatabletoolefincontent.However,certainnon-olefiniccompoundscanconstituteapositiveinterference,whilesomeolefinswillnotreactstoichiometrically(seeASTMD1159).TheolefincontentcanbeestimatedusingthecalculationinASTMD1159.
